John David has found something new to do while Mommy spends time in the kitchen. He opens up "his" cabinet, pulls everything out (it's stocked with empty jars & boxes sealed shut). Then he crawls in, closes the door on himself and waits for me to say, "Where's John David????" Then he pops out and says, "Ta-da!!"

bobble head baby
When we went to the pediatrician yesterday, I wasn't expecting John David to be any taller than the previous week, but he measured over an inch taller. The girl did it twice to make sure. She said last week must have been a little off. He is now 32.75 inches. His weight was about the same, 25 lbs 11 oz. His head was 47 cm around.
Height: 75th percentile
Weight: 50th percentile
Head Circumference: 95th percentile
Does that make our son a bobble head? When our neighbor's son Mason was younger, his head circumference was literally off the charts. And he didn't look funny, so that makes me feel better. :)
Here is a picture I took yesterday while we were out running errands. We ran by McDonald's (hey, there was no Chic-fil-A around) to give Jack a chance to stretch his legs, play, and eat. Instead he stood at the glass and flirted with a baby girl.

Cleveland
Last weekend we went to Cleveland for a mini-getaway. We visited the Cleveland Children's Museum, the Cleveland Zoo, and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. My college roommate, Karen, drove in Friday evening and met John David for the first time. We hope to see her again soon!
Here is John David flirting with himself in the mirror.
At the Children's Museum "driving" some "moonrocks."
Climbing to the top of the barn at the Children's Museum.
Grocery shopping at the little kid grocery store. They had used clear packing tape to close up real life boxes & hot glued containers shut. They stuffed clear orange juice containers with orange tissue paper. I thought it was a cute idea.
Karen & I posing at the zoo.
Cameras weren't allowed into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame so this is the only photo I got---John David posing with a giant guitar. This is the look he gets on his face after saying, "Down." It's a demanding face, like, do it now.
Asleep with Daddy at the hotel after a long fun day.

Latest Stats
Height: 31.5"
Weight: 25 lbs 11 oz
Jack is exactly in the 50th percentile for height and weight. I took him to the pediatrician this morning and, sure enough, he has an ear infection in his left ear. He is asleep in the photo after wearing himself out kicking, screaming, and flailing during his appointment. The first time the doctor looked in his ears she couldn't see anything due to wax buildup. So then she came back with drops to break up the wax. Ten minutes later, she came back and flushed out his ears. And finally she could see the inflammation. By that time he was an expert at dodging the otoscope and I had to use my whole body & all of my strength to hold him down. I don't think I've ever seen him so upset. He kicked and screamed until we left the building and were all the way across the street.
After we left the pediatrician's office, my friend Lindsey came over with her two girls, Clara & Sophia. We had a picnic lunch in the park a few blocks from our house. Here is a picture of Clara today--she made friends with this group of little girls, who enjoyed touching her hair. She loved the attention.

Fauxlaroids
ShakeItPhoto. My favorite new iPhone App! Works just like an old Polaroid camera---you watch the photo develop and it creates similar photo tones... Oh, and if you shake your phone photos will develop faster. I just love how the colors come out more saturated and unimportant background junk is made blurry...so fun.
