Children's Museum
We went to the Children's Museum last week with some other mommies & boys from our neighborhood.
Here is John David opening & closing little doors. Behind each door is an object that begins with the letter on the door, such as the ball of yarn for "Y." They had one box for every letter of the alphabet!
His favorite was "P"--- Prince playing piano. It played music when you opened the door and had a little model of....what else? A prince playing the piano, duh.
He is already wearing size 18-24 months. :) Our big boy.
A few days ago his two top teeth cut through the gum line. So in a few more months his face will look quite different.

Back from Texas
Our recent trip to Texas was a lot of fun. And too short as usual. Grandma & Grandpa got to watch John David show off all of his new skills. He's starting to take a few steps. I've seen him take as many as seven before losing his balance.
He can sign the following words:
1. Hi & Bye
2. More (as in, "more" food please).
3. Binky (My code word for nursing).
4. Bonk Bonk (This is a game John David invented. He slaps his head and you say, "Bonk bonk!")
Right now I am trying to teach him the signs for bath, eat, drink, mommy, and daddy.
He can say the following words:
1. Dada (occasionally he'll say Momma).
2. Go Go (his name for our dog Dolly & all other dogs).
3. Glasses (he pronounces it "gaaaaa sez!" as he lunges towards your face and steals your glasses or sunglasses). This is a game he never gets tired of. His great aunt Sharon bought him his very own pair of sunglasses and he likes them----but he still wants yours too.

Who knew Rockport had it's very own aquarium?

I'm Fabulous
John David has started to understand signs and
is trying to imitate them. He can say hi, bye, bonk bonk, binky, and more (as in "more" food please). He seems to really enjoy communicating. I'm trying to teach him more signs such as eat, drink, water, bath, dog, stand up, etc.
Stealing my sunglasses is his favorite thing to do and his whole face lights up if I put them on his nose. :)

click clack! here i come!
John David is starting to take a few steps. He can go two steps without support before losing his balance but he loves to push his walker across the room. I wish I would have let this video record for one extra second! As I was hitting "stop," he turned and flashed me a huge grin.

First Birthday
John David got a much needed haircut on his first birthday.
The day before his birthday, our neighbor threw him a surprise party! It was such a nice surprise. I didn't have my camera on me, but she took pictures and promised to put them on a disc for me. When I get them, I'll post them. She got him his very own cake to dig into. He loved it!
